12 Jun 2026

Alkmaar, the Netherlands, May 2026 – Driessen Catering Equipment has once again been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal, improving its overall sustainability score from 77 to 83 and maintaining its position among the top 5% of companies assessed worldwide.

The recognition reflects Driessen’s continued commitment to environmental responsibility, ethical business practices, sustainable procurement, and the well-being of its employees. The improved score demonstrates measurable progress across the company’s sustainability program and reinforces its long-term commitment to responsible growth.

EcoVadis is one of the world’s most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings, assessing organizations across four key areas: environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The Gold Medal places Driessen among the highest-performing companies evaluated through the EcoVadis methodology.

Orlando Gaete, CEO of Driessen Catering Equipment, commented: “Improving our score from 77 to 83 shows the progress our teams continue to make across the business. From how we design products to how we source materials and operate our facilities, every step reflects our commitment to doing things better.”

Sustainability continues to play an increasingly important role in Driessen’s product strategy. The company develops solutions designed to help airlines reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lower environmental impact throughout the catering process.

Recent examples include the Hybrite Ultra Lite trolley, which weighs just 14.1 kilograms and helps airlines reduce fuel consumption and associated emissions, as well as cooling solutions developed in partnership with Icebridge that support a transition away from dry ice and help improve operational efficiency. Driessen also continues to support circular economy principles through initiatives such as closed-loop aluminum recycling and trolley buy-back programs.

“The real value of sustainability comes from turning ambition into practical improvements,” added Gaete. “Whether that means reducing weight, extending product life, improving recyclability, or helping customers operate more efficiently, our focus is on delivering measurable results for both our customers and the industry.”

The EcoVadis Gold Medal remains valid through May 2027 and reinforces Driessen’s commitment to combining operational performance, innovation, and responsible business practices across the onboard catering industry.
