Driessen Catering Equipment B.V. is a renowned and successful international company, active in the Aerospace Industry. We are a world leader in specialized equipment to support the catering process in commercial aircraft. Our company designs and manufactures trolleys, food containers and related products. We manage a large portfolio of standard equipment as well as customized equipment for all airlines around the world.
As PD Engineer you are designing and developing new products and re-design (improve) existing products within the Driessen Catering Equipment product portfolio, consisting of trolleys, standard containers and other catering equipment, like connectivity solutions. For aviation and non-aviation markets.
Your key activities
- Creating technical solutions for (re-)designs and developments, which are commercially viable and considering the design for manufacturing principals.
- Arrange, test and review prototypes in our workshop.
- Be project lead of the design including project deliverables.
- Be the liaison between sales, project management and our production in Thailand.
- Creating 3D design, drawings and BOM’s.
- Design and dimension structures based on airworthiness requirements, with the use of materials (metal and plastic) and associated production methods (aluminium extruding, sheet metal, CNC milling, stamping, casting, injection moulding, etc.).
- Explore developments and new technologies and materials in the market to use in new and existing designs.
Our job requirements
Education & knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equal working and thinking level, in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering or similar.
- Educated in product design, engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Be inventive, innovative and creative.
- Knowledge in the field of metals and plastics.
- Be fluent in the English language.
- Basic knowledge of Airworthiness rules and regulations would be preferred.
- 3D printing experience
Experience
- Approximately three years of experience in a technical design function is a plus.
- Knowledge to iterate product development from initial idea to series production.
- Experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably Solidworks.
- Experience with Project management processes.
- Experience with designing processes and improvement processes.
Skills and other requirements
- Team player and able to collaborate with internal and external colleagues and parties with various nationalities.
- Likes to build and test stuff.
- Able to plan tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Be punctual and accurate.
- Competent with MS-office, PLM/PDM systems and preferable ERP.
- Willing to travel on ad-hoc basis when required for the job.
What we offer?
- An annual contract with the intention of permanent.
- A monthly gross salary between € 3.335, – = and € 4.421, – based on a 40-hour workweek.
- 8% holiday allowance.
- 25 Leave days and 13 days of WTR (ATV) leave.
