Driessen Catering Equipment designs, manufactures, sells and services a broad line of products in the commercial aircraft and railway interior equipment industry.
Driessen offers a complete line of food and beverage preparation, distribution and storage equipment, as well as connectivity and cooling solutions. We are a global leader for galley equipment (trolleys, food containers and other inserts) for catering on aircraft and trains.
Our headquarters are based in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, and our manufacturing facilities are based in Thailand. The Driessen team is made up of over 1,000 people worldwide.

19381938:Foundation and Early YearsThe company originated in 1938 when Mr. G. Driessen Sr. established a plumbing workshop in Limmen, the Netherlands. By the 1950s, it ventured into the aviation industry, producing equipment for KLM and others. With the advent of Jumbo jets in the late 1960s, the product line expanded to include aircraft trolleys. The company also supplied parts to Fokker. In the mid-1970s, Driessen Sr. retired, passing leadership to his sons and necessitating a second factory in Wieringerwerf for trolley production.

1980The 80’s and 90’s:growth and internationalizationOur company saw massive growth in the 80’s, when our local factory became a small multinational company and sales increased considerably. Driessen first went international when we opened a sales office in the Netherlands Antilles, helping us establish a foothold in the strong North and South American markets. We later moved this office to Houston, USA. In 1986, Driessen started our own manufacturing facility for trolleys and other galley equipment in Bangkok, Thailand, cementing our foundation in the Asia Pacific region. In the early 90’s, the factory moved from Bangkok to its current location in Lamphun, Thailand.

2008Recent history:transition from a Dutch family owned business to a French multinationalIn 2008, the Driessen Aerospace Group became part of the Zodiac Aerospace Group. The Zodiac Aerospace Group was a stock listed multinational in the aviation industry, with 80 production sites around the world and more than 20,000 dedicated employees. A world leader in all the services it provided, Zodiac Aerospace specialized in Cabin Interiors, Aircraft Systems, Aero safety & Technology. On February 13, 2018, Zodiac Aerospace joined Safran to create the world’s third largest aerospace company (excluding aircraft manufacturers).
