Research & Technologies Engineer

As an R&T Engineer at Driessen Catering Equipment, you will be part of a dynamic group committed to inspiring our customers and fostering a culture of innovation within our organization. Your role will involve developing breakthrough and disruptive innovations that support the future products in our Driessen Catering Equipment portfolio, which includes trolleys, standard containers, and other non-electrical catering equipment.

Your key activities 

  • The R&T Engineer is responsible for the discovery and development of new technologies and concepts to be applied in current and future products and services at Driessen.
  • The R&T Engineer works on topics and projects defined in the company’s Technology Road Map and is responsible for the maturity of such projects up to a technically feasible solution.
  • Contribute to the research, development, and maintenance of an Innovation Vision for our organization.
  • Conducts technology watch to identify new and emerging technological trends, gather intelligence, and assess potential opportunities.
  • Develop specifications based on functional needs and stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop prototypes and perform tests to demonstrate feasibility.
  • Shares knowledge and supports other departments (e.g., engineering, certification) in implementing R&T concepts and technologies.

Our job requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equal working and thinking level, in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering or Mechatronics engineering.
  • At least five years of experience in a technical design function.
  • Material science in the field of metal and plastic.
  • Basic knowledge of Airworthiness rules & regulations and knowledge about Circularity design is preferred.
  • Knowledge to iterate product development from initial idea to series production.
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems (preferably Solidworks), project management principles and design processes
  • Competent with MS-office, PLM/PDM system (SmarTeam) and preferable graphic design software.
  • Confident presenting solutions with sketches, renders, and other mediums such as video.

  • A monthly gross salary between € 3.315, = and € 4.395, =.
